that moonlit morning

that night i started the walk at 3am,
dark, moist morning.
suddenly a river in my path,
knee deep, me with a stick in my right hand,
the water chilly.

i cross. half waist, walking across.
turn left. see the moon.

i look. i stare. i fall in love.
huge beautiful bright lovely.

yes, god exists.
